Really loving this jacket from Aritzia this season! A friend of mine (a few inches taller than me) recommended it when I mentioned needing some snowy weather clothing. It's turned out to be exactly what I needed for my winter wardrobe; great fit, light weight, packable, awesome for layering, and oh so warm.
The sleeves are just a tiny bit too long, but are trimmed with a long elastic band which can easily be tucked inside to shorten up the sleeves to the perfect length. I prefer just pulling up the sleeves so the elastic sits at my wrist. It's small enough that it actually stays in place, and because of the quilted fabric pattern the bunching on the sleeves doesn't look out of place.
Aritzia considers this a slim-fit jacket, which means on me there's enough room for a long sleeve sweater underneath while it still gives some body shape. It also works very well as an insulating mid layer with longer wool coat over top, which is how I've typically been wearing it for below freezing weather, or by itself for quick jaunts outside or in the rain. It's made of water-and-wind resistant nylon, and filled with "responsibly sourced" goose down, according to the tags.
One of my other favourite features is that it comes with a matching drawstring bag. The bag has enough space that you don't need to fold up the jacket perfectly to get it in - just scrunch or roll it up then tighten the drawstring, and the whole thing will flatten down even further when packed in a suitcase. Super handy for traveling!
If I had one complaint, it's that the feathers do tend to escape - I find a couple of them on my shirt each time I wear this jacket. I can be a bit sensitive to feathers, but I haven't found it to bother me. Given the reasonable price, great fit, warmth and packability, I'm incredibly happy with having this jacket in my wardrobe.
