A fitted t-shirt in a solid color makes a quick grab-and-go look. For the summer, I like to change it up to a brighter color with a hint of trend. This tee from Suzy Shier has a petite-friendly length, slim cut, and a fun criss-cross pattern on the back. I choose the saturated shiraz red, but it also comes in light green, withered rose, or classic black.
The back adds visual interest and a surprise you wouldn't expect from the front. I wear my hair up with this shirt to let the back shine! If the strappy detailing goes out of style or you don't want to show as much, throw on a shrug, cardigan, or blazer and it becomes a simple, versatile tee. I'm planning to keep it in my wardrobe rotation through the fall.
While Suzy Shier doesn't carry petite sizes, I find many of their shirts run shorter in the length and shoulder width. They also stock a variety of affordable jewelry, updated frequently to reflect the latest trends (try their chokers, layered necklaces, or stretch bracelets). I only wish they were more accessible! Currently their store locations are in Canada, but they do ship to the U.S. from their website.
Check them out if you get a chance, as an alternative (or addition) to stores like H&M, Forever 21, and Topshop, particularly if you are looking for budget-friendly tops or trending jewelry.
