Happy Fall! I'm loving the look of a black mini dress with ankle boots right now. It's simple yet chic, versatile, and so easy to put together. Plus, a monochromatic outfit is a great streamlined look for petites. I'm particularly happy that I found boots that fit my small feet!
I'm wearing an older version of the Inland dress, with a slight lettuce edge and knitted texture - the newer version has a smoother fabric, and is currently on sale at Aritzia! The black is definitely my favorite for the versatility, but I also like the caruso blue. Be aware - this is a very form fitting dress. I'm usually an XXS at Aritiza, but I sized up to an XS for this one. The overall length is great even when sizing up, and hits above my knees.
I'm a big fan of Sam Edelman - they are one of those rare brands that actually carries shoe sizes down to a 4 (34 EU). They run small, too, which is fantastic if you have especially tiny feet. I originally ordered my Petty ankle boots in 4, but ended up keeping the 4.5. I wear them with very thin ankle socks, so size up even more if you want to wear thicker socks.
The boots are available in a variety of colors and materials, and several major retailers carry them. Zappos currently has the best selection in small sizes, but also try Sam Edelman's website or Nordstrom, especially if you need international shipping options. The lack of embellishments makes them look more expensive than they are, but the subtle inside zipper and vertical outside line keeps them chic. The 1.5 inch heel gives a slight boost and is very comfy for everyday wear.
If you want something warmer than the Inland dress to pair with ankle boots, add a cropped sweater or choose a long sleeved mini like this similar Strait dress by TNA. Give Sam Edelman a try for other small-sized shoe styles too - they make wide-calf small sized boots, and even kids sizes. I haven't tried their heels yet but I do have sandals, and their Petty boots are certainly one of my favorites to wear this fall!
